So the month of January is coming to an end, and that might mean those “new year, new me” thoughts are probably coming to a screeching halt as you realize you just can’t do all you set out to do this month. An organized desk, however, is a simple and fast task that can help keep you in an uplifted mood. It will at least make you feel like your life is put-together and it might even help you get your work done faster. Here are some tips…
First and foremost, get rid of all the supplies and knick-knacks you don’t need. You don’t necessarily have to throw them away, but if you don’t have room for them at work, or you’re not using them daily, store them somewhere out of the way.
2.Use A Pencil Holder:
Keep the clutter of pencils, pens, and other such supplies out of the way with a pencil holder. Whether you want to invest in a fancy metal pencil holder or you want to get crafty and make one out of an old jar or bottle, it’s up to you.
3. Start a foldering system:
Organize your documents, notes, and files using storage boxes or magazine holders. You can label them according to your clients or other categories.
4. Clean off your PC desktop:
A lot of us have the habit of saving random files onto our computer desktops. That’s definitely an “F” on Organization skills. Create folders on your desktop and sift through your documents, deleting unneeded material.
5. Stay Clean:
Making the effort to clear off your desk from mugs, plates, cups, files, and other things before the end of each work day is the finishing touch. Once you get into the habit, it will become easy and essential.
